New York — Comedian Bowen Yang has officially confirmed he will be departing Saturday Night Live (SNL) after nearly seven seasons with the iconic NBC sketch comedy show. The announcement marks a major shift for the long-running series as it navigates a wave of cast changes during its 51st season.
Yang, who first joined SNL as a writer in 2018 before becoming a cast member in 2019, shared his departure in a heartfelt Instagram post on Saturday, saying he is “grateful for every minute” of his time at Studio 8H. His final appearance will take place on the December 20 Christmas episode, hosted by Ariana Grande with musical guest Cher.
